You Can't Fool Mother Nature

We have a deck/balcony and below it is the entry door to our basement. Every spring the birds build a nest on the porch light next to that door and make such a mess of the entry way. Some friends told us that if you buy a plastic snake and put it near the nesting area, the birds would be frightened away. So, Mike nailed the snake in place and removed the already built nest about 3 weeks ago. At first we would see the birds start to fly under the deck and change direction and we could hear them scolding and squawking at the snake... We were so pleased with it's effectiveness. Can you see how well it worked?
